The EJ253 I received from JDM Premium was in excellent condition—low miles, strong compression, and clean internals. However, it didn’t come with the AC compressor or alternator as advertised. Customer service was quick to respond and offered a partial refund, which I appreciated. Engine runs flawlessly after install, but double-check what’s included before ordering!

After my Impreza’s original engine died at 200k, I took a chance on JDM Premium’s EJ253. The engine arrived well-packaged, complete with all sensors and even a new timing belt. Installed it myself, and it fired right up—no CELs, no leaks, and purrs like a kitten. 5,000 miles in, and it’s been flawless. Highly recommend!

The engine itself is solid—good compression and no major issues. However, it had a small coolant leak from one of the hoses, and the valve cover gaskets were seeping. Not a huge deal for a used engine, but I expected better for the price. Still, it runs well after fixing those minor issues. Just factor in some extra time/money for seals.

My 2005 Outback’s original EJ253 was burning oil like crazy at 180k miles. JDM Premium sent me a low-mileage Japanese-spec engine that looked brand new – even had the factory Subaru stickers still on it! Installed it myself over a weekend, and it fired up first try. Zero leaks, perfect compression, and it idles smoother than my old engine did when it was new. These guys are lifesavers!
